Author Introduction: Rebecca Schlaeger
Without a doubt, Rebecca is one of my most unique author friends. The quintessential California Girl – who loves being happy and silly spreading laughter and cheer, dancing to her own music, decorating for all of the holidays and wearing mismatched socks – she is a self-help warrior, battling negative talk, low self-esteem and “can’t-do” attitudes. Her “Mental Girl” series, “Mental Girl” and “Mental Girl Book Two: How to Survive the Internet While Really Trying (and not taking it all so personally)” will have you looking at yourself, and your life in new ways. Rebecca knows that some things require tough love and even tougher language, so, if explicit language isn’t to your liking, you may not want to read this series. However, if you need to hear, or tell yourself, the bare, naked truth I highly recommend these books.
In addition to adult self-help, Rebecca has written family friendly books that deal with growing pains, “Kate Nettles” a YA book about a young girl navigating life through school and bullying; “We’re All Nuts” and “Wanda the Worry Wart”, which deals with a young girl facing anxiety. Rebecca has also published a Christmas duo, inspired by her mother-in-law, “Dreams Do Come True” & “Ronalee, The First Lady of the Reindeer”. Check her out on Amazon and here on FB, where she also has a few pages to help others create, live, laugh and show their crazy.
Author Introduction: David Voyles
I should have started with this one. The US is full of spooks, haints, ghosts, ghoulies, monsters and myths. Just about every state has its myths and legends of cryptids (here in South Carolina we have Boo Hag, Lizard Man and Bat Boy to name a few). Some are specific to the state, such as The Rougarou in Louisiana, while others seem to get around the country. Anyone ever heard of Bigfoot?
Well, just about an hour up I-26 from me lives a man who is no stranger to mountain myths and legends. David Allen Voyles is a retired English teacher with a real love of the macabre. So much so he has created a whole world of horror that he loves to share with anyone who is interested. From once owning his own haunted tours company, where the guests rode in an actual hearse (yes, a hearse!), to creating the “Dark Corners” podcast to throwing extravagant Halloween parties, David is a legend of his own. If you love a little horror in your Christmas season his book, “The Thirteenth Day of Christmas and Other Tales of Yuletide Horror” is a must-read. You can also find more yuletide horror on his podcast. In “The Seasons”, parts one and two, David narrates two of his short stories, “Christmas Eve in the Graveyard” and “The Toymaker”. He also has more in the short series, “Dark Holidays”. Looking for more horror and tales of myth, I also highly recommend, “Wraiths of the Appalachians” and “Tales Fron the Hearse”.

Author Introduction: Terri Harrington
Terri’s first novel, “The Eyes of a Killer” has everything you’re looking for in a paranormal suspense thriller mystery; horses, dogs, ghosts, a dead sister who visits your dreams, a heroine who suffers from self-doubt and bi-polar disorder…and a killer. To say any more would spoil the book for you, and I would never deprive readers of diving into a great book and discovering the story for themselves. “The Eyes of a Killer” is such a book.
Currently residing in Kansas, Terri Harrington is the author of the supernatural thriller, “Wolff’s Haven” and a horror novelette, “By The Gods” in addition to her short stories and having stories published in various collections. When she isn’t writing Terri loves camping, horseback riding and playing with her Labrador Retriever. You can read her short stories and learn more about her books at terriharrington.com
